Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RecoverPay (“the Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

RecoverPay is a web-based lead recovery and follow-up platform that helps businesses re-engage inbound leads who contacted them over WhatsApp but did not receive a timely reply. The Service includes:

  • A CRM-style pipeline for managing inbound WhatsApp leads
  • Automated and manual follow-up message sequences sent through a connected WhatsApp number
  • AI-powered message rewriting to personalise follow-ups based on lead context
  • WhatsApp contact import — importing contact names and phone numbers from a user's own connected WhatsApp account into the lead pipeline
  • Team collaboration, role-based access control, and workspace management
  • Campaign scheduling, delivery tracking, and performance analytics

We offer two ways to connect a WhatsApp number, described in Section 4 below. We do not operate WhatsApp itself; message delivery depends on WhatsApp and Meta's infrastructure in both connection modes.

3. User Responsibilities

By using the Service, you agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful business purposes
  • Not send spam, unsolicited bulk messages, abusive, harassing, or illegal content through the platform
  • Ensure you have a legitimate business reason and, where required by law, proper consent to message the contacts you import or upload
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials and access tokens
  • Keep the phone used for QR-code linking secure, and revoke the linked session promptly if that device is lost, stolen, or compromised
  • Comply with Meta's WhatsApp Business Policy, WhatsApp's Terms of Service, and all applicable laws including data protection regulations in your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR, Pakistan PDPA, UAE PDPL)
  • Not use the AI rewriting feature to generate deceptive, misleading, or harmful content

4. Account & Connectivity

RecoverPay supports two ways to connect a WhatsApp number to your workspace. Both methods allow the Service to send and receive WhatsApp messages on your behalf.

4.1 WhatsApp Business Cloud API (Meta)

For higher-volume sending and a verified business display name, you can connect an official WhatsApp Business Cloud API account. This requires an active WhatsApp Business Account registered with Meta, and you authorise RecoverPay to send and receive messages on your behalf through Meta's API. You are responsible for maintaining your Meta Business account, ensuring your business profile is accurate, and any fees Meta charges for API usage or conversation-based pricing.

4.2 QR-code linked-device connection

As a faster way to get started, RecoverPay lets you link a personal or business WhatsApp number by scanning a QR code — the same “Linked Devices” mechanism WhatsApp uses for WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop. To use this method, open WhatsApp on your phone, navigate to Settings → Linked Devices, and scan the QR code RecoverPay generates. By scanning the QR code, you grant RecoverPay's linked session the ability to send and receive messages for that WhatsApp number — exactly as any other linked device would.

You are responsible for the security of the phone used to scan the QR code and for keeping that device's WhatsApp session active. You may revoke access at any time from WhatsApp's Linked Devices menu on your phone, or by clicking Disconnect inside RecoverPay. If your phone stays offline for an extended period, WhatsApp may automatically terminate the linked session, pausing message delivery until you reconnect.

RecoverPay does not ask for, and never obtains, your WhatsApp account password. Access is granted solely through the linked-device session created by scanning the QR code.

5. WhatsApp Contact Import

RecoverPay provides a feature that lets you import contact names and phone numbers from your own connected WhatsApp account directly into your lead pipeline. This feature is designed with privacy in mind:

  • Only contact names and phone numbers are read — no message history, group chats, status updates, or media are accessed or stored
  • The contact sync operates over an end-to-end encrypted WhatsApp session — data never leaves your secured connection
  • Imported contacts are stored in your workspace's own database and are never shared with other RecoverPay customers, third-party marketers, or external parties
  • You can delete imported leads from your workspace at any time from the Leads page

By using the WhatsApp contact import feature, you confirm that you have a legitimate business purpose and, where required by applicable law, the necessary consent to import and process those contacts' data within the Service.

6. AI-Powered Features

RecoverPay uses large language model (LLM) technology to offer AI-powered message rewriting. When you use an AI rewrite feature:

  • Relevant context — such as the lead's name, a brief message snippet, and campaign details — is sent to a third-party AI provider solely for the purpose of generating a suggested message rewrite
  • This data is processed in-flight only and is not stored, logged, or used by the AI provider to train or improve their models, in accordance with our data processing agreements
  • AI-generated suggestions are provided as a starting point — you remain fully responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving any message before it is sent
  • AI features are subject to daily and monthly rewrite quotas depending on your plan

RecoverPay does not guarantee the accuracy, tone, compliance, or suitability of AI-generated content. You must not use this feature to produce deceptive, misleading, or harmful messages.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, software, interfaces, and materials provided by RecoverPay are owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sublicense, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service. Your workspace data — the leads, contacts, conversations, and campaigns you create — remain your property. You grant RecoverPay a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that data solely to provide the Service to you.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific message delivery rates, AI rewrite quality, or particular business outcomes. Message delivery depends on Meta's infrastructure, WhatsApp availability, and the recipient's device.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RecoverPay and its affiliates, officers, employees, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim, or PKR 5,000 (whichever is greater).

10. Termination

We may suspend or permanently terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, engage in abuse, send spam or illegal content, or otherwise act in a way that harms other users or the integrity of the platform. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action, except where immediate suspension is necessary to protect other users or the Service.

You may stop using the Service and disconnect your WhatsApp account at any time from your workspace settings. Upon termination, your workspace data will be retained for 30 days to allow for data export requests, after which it will be permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, legal requirements, or our policies. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a prominent notice within the Service at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Contact

For questions about these Terms, contact us at contact@recoverpay.cloud. For data protection or privacy concerns, please include “Privacy” in your subject line so we can prioritise your request.
